Lenscrafters Eye Exam Cost

By admin Under Lenscrafters

When you need an eye exam, lets face it, there are so many different options of eye care chains in America, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. You have Lenscrafters, Pearle Vision, America’s Best, and many, many more. Lenscrafters have been in operation since 1983, so for over 25 years they have been providing exceptional service and products to the people of America. They have grown to become a very large chain of stores, and so there is a very high chance that there is a Lenscrafters store close to you. In having your eye exam at Lenscrafters, you can get a great deal and receive a thorough eye exam with exceptional service. In order to save you more money, they also have many coupons available for customers to print off so that they can be used and save money. The other way to lower the cost of your Lenscrafters eye exam is to have optical insurance, although this may not be the best option based purely off your own personal circumstances.

You want to know the Lenscrafters eye exam cost, correct? The Lenscrafters eye exam cost, for a basic exam, sits at around $60. This price is slightly pricier than at other chains, but also cheaper than some others. Also, this cost does not take into account things such as coupons. The eye exam cost at each individual Lenscrafters store is not the same, but instead they each have individual pricing. Because of this, I highly recommend you visiting multiple stores in your area to make sure you are getting the best deal possible, as in this economy, every cent counts. As I mentioned before, it is also a good idea to find some Lenscrafters coupons (which can be found by visiting the Lenscrafters website) because they can save you a good amount of money. Weigh up the pros and cons of insurance though before purchasing it.

If your eye exam differs slightly in any way from a very basic exam (e.g. contact lenses exam), be prepared to cough up a little more cash. Variations of the basic eye exam can cost around $30 more, but once again is different in each store you visit.

FYI–The doctors are independent from LC; which means he/she pays rent to LC and does not receive employee benefits from LC. The doctor has to hire his own employees (LC seems to forget that though). LC can not set the prices for the exam or the cost of the contact lenses. These things I know for a fact because I worked for one of these doctors for over 10 years. Thankfully I no longer work there.

April 17th visit to Lenscrafters in Spokane Vally was $144 for eye examination of an established patient plus an additional $40 for conact lens exam/evaluation. Significantly higher than the $60 listed above.

I went to a store in Illinois. It cost me about $96 for the exam. As for being thorough, they’re nothing but thoroughly confusing. Did I mention they screwed up my prescription? Bill for one pair of ralph lauren plastic frames costed $500. $264 for scratch resistant/anti-glare lenses. Next time, I’m going to America’s Best. Free, quick, and accurate exam, and I can get 2 pairs for $180.

I just visited a local Lenscrafters, got a thorough eye exam, purchased glasses – paid $40 co-pay for the exam (to an independent doctor), $591 to Lenscrafters for glasses. My insurance company was billed by the doctor $636.00 for the same visit!! No wonder insurance is so expensive when they have doctors overbilling like this!! $636 for an eye exam?!?!?!

I had an exam at lens crafters and it was a joke. They come across like they care about hicking up ones exam fee by adding different aditional testing. All those tests I had at my private eye doctor for only one price which was way lower than lens crafters. The big box optical chains will never have my business again
